Mairangi's farewell

We are going to miss you Mairangi. Have fun in Palmerston North. Aroha nui Na Te Akomanga o Pukeko.

Matariki at the Manurewa Library June 30 2015

Kia ora tātou!

We had fun at the Manurewa library today. We learned more about Matariki and the food store house - Pātaka. Pukeko class made stars with ribbons and made an individual Pātaka with ice cream sticks. Later, we dropped by the sacred Mountain Matukutureia to sing some waiata with Matua Kerry who joined us today. Many thanks to Whaea Maata and Whaea Jenny at the library. Our bus driver Whaea Oronsay. Our parent supporters Whaea Collette and her son and our special guest Matua Kerry. Check out our photos and slider show below. Mauri ora!

South Korea and Matariki

Our class have been talking about Matariki over the past few days. It starts on June 20 Saturday. We spoke to Matua David (a close friend of Matua Tuiono) via Skype in South Korea about what they do for their new year celebrations. Here is a video of an English camp Matua was apart of when he lived there.
